The S.O.S. Lesson Materials
Jesus: The Savior of the World

Introduction: Many believe that JESUS CAN SAVE, that He came to be the Savior of the world. But many do not know what kind of Savior He is. Even if they say Jesus is Savior, yet they still have practices that reflect no total confidence in Him as Savior. This study shows what kind of Savior Jesus Christ is, and will help you decide what to do with other saviors, mediators, or ways that people take for their salvation.

HE IS THE SUFFICIENT SAVIOR

  1. His one sacrificial death was enough for the sins of the whole world in all generations. There is no need to repeat His sacrifice. Once and for all it is done. We cannot do anything to add to the saving work of Christ. No need for additional yoke such religious requirements, observance of sacraments, traditions, etc). You can't "help" Jesus to save you. READ: Heb 9:25-28;10:11-18; JOH 19:3O
  2. If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. JOH 8:36. "Wala ka nang hahanapin pa!"

HE IS THE ONLY SAVIOR: EXCLUSIVE

  1. Because Jesus is sufficient, God did not provide other "saviors" but made Jesus to be THE ONLY SAVIOR for all of mankind.
  2. (ACT 4:12) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

HE IS THE ABLE SAVIOR

  1. He is able to save the worst of sinners. Paul's testimony-1TI 1:15 and his teachings in ROM. 5:18-20.
  2. He is able to save what man considers impossible, MAT 19:25-26.

HE IS THE DIVINE SAVIOR

  1. To be a savior, you must be God! Jesus cannot be Savior if He is not God. Jesus is both God and Savior. Titus 2:13
  2. He is the true God and eternal life, 1John 5:20. The church is said to be purchased by God's own blood (Christ's blood), Acts 20:28.

HE IS THE PERMANENT SAVIOR

  1. Because Christ is God, He ever lives to make intercessions for us. Thus, He has a permanent priesthood. His work as priest or mediator between God and man is not transferred to anyone. Heb.7:23-25!
  2. NO NEED to recourse our prayer to someone else. This means also that he completes whatever He has started in your life. He is the Author and Perfector of our faith. Therefore, do not transfer from one `savior' to another. Read Phil. 1:6; Heb. 12:2.

HE IS AN ACCESSIBLE SAVIOR

  1. Christ is readily available to all kinds of people! You can go directly to Him. He came not to condemn but to save.
  2. JOH 6:37 - All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

Challenge: JESUS MUST BE YOUR SAVIOUR, OR YOU HAVE NO SAVIOUR AT ALL! BELIEVE, TRUST IN HIM NOW AS YOUR SAVIOR! HE IS READY TO RECEIVE AND SAVE!
