METHODS AND GUIDELINES Spiritual Need Survey

Conducting a spiritual need survey has been consistently reported as the most effective method of getting contacts. It easily leads to challenge people to open their homes for Bible study. It has been used as a tool for conversation leading to witnessing.

GUIDELINES:

1. If possible memorize questions in your dialect. Or write on small cards to prompt memory when conducting surveys.
2. Be spontaneous.
3. Mentally take note of answers. After the survey, carefully enter all answers given by contact and your other observations in your notebook.
4. Be alert for opportunities to minister to needs.
5. Observe relevant guidelines in making house visits.
6. If not offending, and if town people are not suspicious, use Spiritual Need Survey Form (available from Team Squad Scribe) as it is and fill them up as the contact answers.
7. Let the contact know that the survey will only take a few minutes.
8. Even it the response to question #8 is positive, take it as an opportunity to schedule a Bible study or to briefly testify of your salvation experience BUT not really to lead the person to pray the sinner’s prayer.
9. WRITE OUT A TRANSLATION OF EACH OF THE SURVEY QUESTIONS IN THE DIALECT YOU WILL USE.
