METHODS AND GUIDELINES
Conducting a Life Seminar

A Life Seminar is best scheduled during the first Saturday or Sunday in the fieldwork. It is an activity that accomplishes contact, convert and congregate objectives altogether:

  1. It is a good way to get more new contacts including the key people in town.
  2. It can lead contacts to decide to convert to Jesus. In one setting, they can experience and express faith in Jesus, repentance and even the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
  3. The attendance of contacts/converts in the seminar is a good initial exposure to Church Life, fellowship and corporate praise and worship.

FEATURES & ADVANTAGES

  1. It is evangelistic in nature.
  2. It uses a teaching process. Persuasive but not offensive using lessons to challenge their faith to be based on God's Word. Answers question and excuses in people’s minds that hinder them from making a decision for Jesus Christ.
  3. It is charismatic in style. The entire seminar is not a cold, strictly structured `program', but gives room for a spontaneous flow with the Holy Spirit: Joyful atmosphere, joyful praise and worship time, freedom to say `Amen', Hallelujah', or clap hands.
  4. It is need meeting. There will be prayer for the sick and for problems, believing God for signs and wonders and miracles to follow and confirm the truthfulness of the Word.
  5. It is well illustrated by models of changed lives through carefully selected testimonies of changed lives, restored family relationships, healings, deliverance and miracles.
  6. It gives time for friendship and acquaintance. Break times and group dynamics are provided for sharing. A fellowship meal or snack is served.
