WHY CONFRONT?

  1. TO DESTROY SATANIC PLANS THAT HINDER EVANGELISM
    1. DECEIVING UNSAVED ABOUT SALVATION ‑ 2CO 4:4
    2. OPPRESSING BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS - disabling them to obey God
  2. TO RELEASE THE LAND FROM INFLUENCE OF TERRITORIAL SPIRITS
    Fallen angels have their rank or authority even after their rebellion (JUD 9). Satan uses this demonic hierarchy to control systems & events in the world.
  3. TO REDEEM THE LAND: CREATOR GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR EACH TOWN - God is Creator - Owner of the world. He has plans for cities, towns and nations. The enemy seeks to destroy God’s righteous plans for the towns. But as the light of the gospel comes, and righteousness is established in the town, God's original purpose for the town can be restored.

PREPARATION FOR CONFRONTATION:

  1. IDENTIFY THE ENEMY - a working knowledge of the town/city enable intercessors to better receive revelation from God about specific strategy for prayer, intercession and gospel work.
  2. BE STRONGER THAN THE STRONGMAN FIRST! – Being stronger than the strongman first (LUK 11:21-22). A strong army is a result of strong individual soldiers.
  3. GROUP PREPARATION – repentance, humility, holiness and unity. As the group pray together and stay in God’s Presence, the Spirit can begin to work to lead members to confession, reconciliation and cleansing. Then they can confidently wage war against the enemy.
  4. BUILD A STRONG PRAYER BASE/SUPPORT – get prayer back up from other intercessor. Illus: Joshua against the Amalekites while Moses interceded on the mountain (EXO.17: 8-13).
  5. GET COVERING - get the spiritual covering of spiritual superiors or body to whom you submit. A lone ranger makes himself vulnerable to open attack. Ask covering for your family, children, the weak, young and helpless, your properties and ministry.

PARTICIPANTS: The whole S.O.S. team coming into unity as God’s army. Field Director leads. Pioneer worker should take note of strategies in spiritual warfare applied. Worship Leader prepares to usher team to God’s presence. Team Scribe records `confront’ activities & results, prophetic words released and prophetic acts done.

CONFRONT ACTIVITIES ON FIELD:

  1. SURVEYING THE LAND - to determine strength of the enemy's influence, locate power bases, confirm observations about the spirit Strongman from survey data.
  2. DAILY PRAISE AND WORSHIP - a daily priority. Dwelling in God’s presence for strength and guidance. Bringing in God's Presence in the town/city.
  3. INTERCESSION FOR THE LEADERS OF THE TOWN/CITY: Local officials, Chief of Police, Education Heads and Heads of civic action groups. Satan looks for points of attachment with leaders through whom he can exercise his influence and control over the town/city.
  4. PRAYER RALLY OR BIG PRAYER MEETING FOR THE TOWN - intended to BLESS the town and the townspeople, NOT YET FOR EVANGELISM. As God’s Spirit leads, proclaim boldly God’s purpose and intended blessings for the place, reverse the evil plans of the enemy.
  5. INTERCESSION AND REPENTING FOR THE SINS OF THE TOWN/CITY - identify with the sin of the people in personal and corporate repentance (JER 8:21)
  6. THE WARFARE PRAYER - wait for the God-given strategy to bind the strongman. May involve a prophetic act to break the wicked dominion.
  7. DAILY WARFARE AND INTERCESSION WITH FASTING - maintaining vigilance, always on the offensive. Don't let the enemy take back any conquered territory.
