THE S.O.S. GOAL AND S.O.S TEAM
The S.O.S. Team Composition
The SOS Team in a target place is composed of a maximum of 50 volunteers strongly organized for CENTRALIZED OPERATIONS & CONTROL and MAXIMUM PARTICIPATION OF EACH MEMBER OF THE TEAM.

  1. FIELD DIRECTOR - is the over-all leader of the team. He concentrates on the SOS team members and the manageent of the fieldwork. He leads the SOS team, not the converts. Although the Pioneer worker is under him, he promotes the leadership of the PW among the contacts and converts.
  2. PIONEERING WORKER (PW) - works under the leadership of the FD. He concentrates on results/converts . He focuses on building relationships with contacts and converts and drawing them to his leadership. He leads the contacts and converts, not the SOS team. Promotes the leadership of the FD among the SOS team members.
  3. THE INTERN FD - is being trained by the FD in all aspects of Field Management using the `Tell me-Show me -Let me’ process. In effect, the FD reproduces himself & increases the manpower resources for SOS. The intern FD must be prepared to serve as FD the following year.
  4. MAJOR LEAD GROUP - works closely with the FD
    1. Pastor-Chaplain - serves as chief counselor for the team members. His job is to free the FD from the burden of carrying matters in relation to the personal needs of the team members. The FD is therefore free to concentrate on strategizing and managing the field work. He is the primary person to prepare for the ministry of the word for the daily motivation of the team members.
    2. Trainer/s - in coordination with the FD, he plans and prepares for the training sessions as the fieldwork progresses. Conducts reviews, quizzes, and teaching sessions to clarify or for mastery of the teaching materials to be used on field. He prepares to address the questions and issues met by the volunteers on field.
    3. Prophets - help to provide spiritual inspiration and direction for the teams’ spiritual warfare, intercession and strategizing. Must work always in submissive attitude to FD & other leaders.
    4. Worship Leader - plans and prepares for dynamic worship time during team sessions. Works closely with FD, team trainers and prophets.

  5. TEAM OFFICERS - include the: Team Scribe/Supplies Officer, Team Comptroller, Team Warden and Team Documentation and Communication Networker. They oversee and coordinate the functions of the corresponding squad officers and perform functions that serve the whole team.
  6. SQUAD LEADERS - serve as the direct arms of the FD in the carrying out of the church planting activities and in the oversight of volunteers.
  7. SQUAD OFFICERS - namely the: Squad Supplies Officer, Squad Operations Officer and Squad Scribe. Volunteers classified as `LIGHTERS’ (those who are not yet able to conduct Bible Studies) are the ones assigned as Squad officers. Consequently, volunteers classified as LEADERS & LIFERS (those able to conduct Bible studies ) are set free to concentrate on conversion activities.
  8. SQUAD MEMBERS - team members are classified as LEAD, LIFE, OR LIGHT volunteers and are equally distributed among the different squads. Therefore, the squads will fairly have equal strengths. In each squad, each member functions according to the roles spelled out for his classification.
